best record italy came out with another obscure italian disco production from 1977 containing the fully extended disco versions of vibrations and baobab previosly available on the billy woost album like -one continuous edit-, but this time we have these two strong disco songs fully extended and in the right form!

arising from the outskirts of brussel is noord halle, a young and promising source of hard to beat fast paced electro tracks. jefre ep might be his debut, but the support is steady already with the b side delivering two truly unique remixes by bakk regulars antenna and haron. all in all this record proves to be a strong hand in any game.

we are delighted to welcome egyptology to the hands in the dark family. the parisian duo, made up of stéphane laporte (domotic) and olivier lamm have been active since the late 90s in the french post-electronica/avant-pop scene. sur les autres mondes is inspired by a publication by french astronomer lucien rudaux (1937, larousse) in which he imagined the landscapes of other planets in our solar system through scientific descriptions. partly composed for a performance at the prestigious louvre museum in paris, the album is the band’s first full length output since 2012, and we can assure you that it has been worth the wait. their sharp ear for detail and the epic worlds evoked through the album make for an auditory voyage which is as graphic as the words inked by rudaux. the duo is bringing the 70s kosmiche genre back to life in a very fresh, bold way, offering a strong shot of pure analogue sound and a fantastic, melodic approach to synth-based ambient music.

last spotted on correspondants fourth annual collection, jennifer cardini and noura labbani return to yovavs majestic slice of cold wave theatre running wave and develop its universe on their ever-bubbling dischi autunno imprint. still as epic and dramatic as it ever was, its narrative is now galvanised by a typically dynamic edit from gerd janson (who also remixed yovavs last single on correspondant), three originals and one remix. railroad is an animated chip-like adventure with layers of leads cleverly interlaced around the lolloping lofi kicks file detective plays the consummate creeper as a slinky metallic beat suddenly melts into a sleazy, sneaky lead that keeps peeping over its shoulder space work closes the show on a cosmic high with such a strong emotional pull it could make sabres of paradise blush while brassica add crucial footnotes with uptempo breakbeat remix so elastic and euphoric it could flex a bicep or two. stunning, immersive and truly singular no one is doing it like yovav right now.

taking advantage of his first japan tour, ortella is back with a strong ep rich in styles. believe is mixing memories and fantasies, each track gives a deeper journey with a panel of emotions and feelings, keeping the french man own solid base with dance-floor oriented drums and enhancing them with some cosmic trippy loops, a very special romantic mood and a drop of acid : the perfect formula for evasion. dancing is great, tripping is better!

baptiste letertre is ringard and comes from rennes, britanny s biggest city with a strong electronic music culture. ringard has a label called dance around 88 because he was born in 1988. ringard released 8 vinyl records. -lacrima rossa- is his first 12- outside his own label so it s a great pleasure for us to have him on board. ringard music is deep but raw, woolly, melancholic yet emotional. think soulful techno, steamroom slo-mo, warehouse heat and euphoric minimal. morphine electronics at its best with amazing strings and killer frequencies like lobster theremin meeting boards of canada in a fantasy balearic island. in french, ringard means tacky or outdated. it has never sound so cool being ringard!

backed with strong remixes from dustin zahn, cosmin trg, & doubt, one step ahead is the massive vinyl debut from gabriella vergilov. her refreshing take on techno is a perfect match for enemy. gabriella is an upcoming bulgarian artist based in belgium who rides the fine line between house and techno. her music was recently included on dvs1s fabric 96 mix along with the soundtrack for a film entitled >le fidele.< reach out to me and one step ahead break away from the dark techno norm in favor of a more delicate and emotive approach. emerald drops the percussion altogether, but locks the listener in even deeper with its highly hypnotic groove. on big room duty for this release, dustin zahn delivers an acid-drenched rendition featuring his trademark groove while maintaining the originals feminine undertones. meanwhile, cosmin trg turns in a unique remix that can only be described as heavy and arcane. mistress records and dont be afraids doubt finishes off the package with a very deep and dubby remix which stays true to the originals vibe.

torino label we play the music we love has already made a strong start with some immersive turns by trevor deep jr and rills, and now they provide a platform for italian duo luminer. -indaco- is a charged up dub techno excursion with crisp percussion to propel the classic chord shimmer that course through the centre of the track. -canadian- takes a deeper direction with a crafty tapestry of synth flares and a more understated rhythm section. hiver s reconstruction of -indaco- opts for a crooked electro foundation, nimble acid line and a shapeless swell of pad tones as the key ingredients, and then icelandic techno champ thor whips up a sharp-strutting dub techno variation of -canadian- that sits comfortably with the luminer tracks.

art alfie inaugurates his velvet pony imprint with a four track ep. the new label will function as a platform for the artist and his friends, shining light on a catalogue of music from the stockholm scene. having built a strong reputation alongside mr. tophat with a string of revered releases on the duos karlovak imprint, velvet pony signals the opening of a new door for art alfie. the project arrives after a highly acclaimed album on studio barnhaus, as well as his first solo ep on karlovak last year on which the underground hit flaunting was featured. velvet pony trax 1 sees art alfie brandishing his immaculate production technique over 4 distinct grooves. soft spoken takes us to the twilight zone with low slung bass riffs and jazzy chords, whilst ‘since ive seen you offers a dubbed out dose of twisted disco for the after-hours. on the b side, hideouts pairs hypnotic percussion with an undeniable funk, and front, a co-production with mans glaeser - raises the heat for an energetic finish.

with their new horizon ep, lucien & the kimono orchestra open a music box which transports you in a blue and dawnish atmosphere, a morning spent on walking in an old cinematic paris. first step in the eighties, connection starts as a film opening. then arrives the single, fresh start, full of indelible voices and gimmicks. horizon, sung in french, is a delicate reference to the french songwriting tradition inherited from michel berger, alain chamfort or alain souchon. to get some breath back between two songs, georges, offers a strong instrumental interlude. almost at the end, the english-spoken shell extends the panel of influences with its downtempo emotion. with its spontaneous declamations and slick guitar riff, asile closes the journey, as the splendid climax of the foursomes second ep.
